TEAM Member Spotlight – Desiree Kiser, TEAM Park Rapids
Meet Desiree Kiser, a dedicated and inspiring Machine Operator II at TEAM Park Rapids, where she’s been proudly contributing since September 2015.
Desiree is a single mom to a 9-year-old and a true example of hard work and perseverance. Homeschooled growing up, TEAM is only her second official job. She joined the company after completing the Machine Operator Program at Northwest Technical College in Bemidji and she’s been learning, growing, and thriving ever since.
When Desiree first started, she admits she only knew the basics. Over the years, she’s developed the skills to run mills and lathes, train other operators, and handle a wide variety of machining challenges. Her favorite part of the job? “The joy of learning,” she says. “It’s been a blast getting to understand how machines, parts, and tooling have evolved over the years.”
One of her most memorable projects has been when TEAM Park Rapids produced engine cases for the power sports industry. “There’s a great group of operators who all work together to keep things running smoothly and maximize production,” she shares. “The camaraderie is endearing and unforgettable.”
When it comes to Driving Innovation, Desiree believes TEAM truly lives up to its mission:
“TEAM is always looking for ways to improve, whether it’s revising older parts or taking on new challenges to grow our capabilities.”
What Desiree appreciates most about TEAM is the culture of belonging. “I’ve never felt like a number here,” she says. “No matter your position or seniority, you’re always treated as a valued member of the TEAM.”
As a single mom, she also values the company’s work-life balance. “The set schedule provides great routine, but TEAM has always been amazing about flexibility when I need to be there for my son for every appointment and every event. I’ve never had to work a holiday, and still receive holiday pay to enjoy that time off.”
Desiree encourages others to consider joining TEAM, noting that education level doesn’t define success here:
“TEAM gives you the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop new skills and they provide excellent benefits too.”
After being at TEAM for 10 years, Desiree’s enthusiasm hasn’t faded a bit:
“I honestly still love coming to work. I feel like I get paid to do my favorite hobby!”
She even appreciates the thoughtful touches, like adjustable work centers designed for her 5-foot stature and fun company perks like Spin the Wheel, birthday ice cream, and cupcakes.
Thank you, Desiree, for your dedication, positive attitude, and a decade of contributions to TEAM Park Rapids. You truly embody what it means to be a valued member of the TEAM family!
