TEAM Member Spotlight: Jerry Nicholson | TEAM Detroit Lakes

Since joining the TEAM family in 2016, Jerry Nicholson has been a force of energy, leadership, and adaptability. His journey began with a simple recommendation from friends already working at TEAM.

Jerry’s career path is a testament to growth through hands-on experience. Starting as a die cast operator, he quickly advanced to setup technician and then setup lead, before stepping into his current role as Production Lead. His favorite part of the job? The variety. “Every day is different,” Jerry says. He thrives on the dynamic nature of his work, where he gets to engage with process, setup, and production; which means constantly learning, solving problems, and adapting to new challenges.

Innovation is at the heart of Jerry’s work. He’s especially energized by projects that challenge him to master new machinery and embrace seeing firsthand how one tool is replaced by another to improve efficiency and precision. For Jerry, Driving Innovation is all about finding smarter ways to do the job. Swapping out old tools for better ones and making the die casting process smoother and more efficient.

Outside of work, Jerry’s adventurous spirit continues. He enjoys fishing, hauling and working on cars, and getting muddy in off-road runs. That same energy and curiosity fuel his success on the job, where he’s known for wearing multiple hats and excelling in diverse roles. His colleagues and supervisors describe him as a natural leader. He is someone who inspires with confidence, communicates with clarity, and fosters a collaborative TEAM environment.

When asked why others should consider joining TEAM, Jerry explains: “It’s a fun environment to be in.” And with teammates like Jerry, it’s easy to see why.
