Dayshift Production Machine Operator

Shift: Dayshift Type: New FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Supervisory Responsibilities:


Duties / Responsibilities:

• Run CNC, manual machines, or hand held tools
• Adjust machine settings with assistance when necessary
• Accurately complete reports and all necessary paper work for the jobs
• Monitor fluids in machine
• Maintain a clean, safe work area
• Utilizes the 5-S principles (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain) to enhance the plants orderliness and organization
• Actively participates in CIP events to improve the safety, quality, and efficiencies of our current processes and procedures
• Change inserts/tools with assistance
• Monitors product quality on a daily basis to assure that the product we are producing meets our customer’s expectations
• Follows safe and efficient work practices to produce quality work.  Understands the importance of maintaining production rates while upholding safety and quality
• Performs their job by working at a consistent and steady pace, being prepared to work each day, and reports to assigned work center in a punctual manner
• Communicates with supervisor and co-workers in a professional manner 
• Other duties may be assigned

Essential Functions:

• Stand or walk for 95-100% of shift
• Must be able to follow work instructions
• Must be detail oriented, with the ability to recognize defects and non-conformities
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 18.5 lbs, occasionally lift and/or move up to 33 lbs.
• Regular attendance required
• Must be able to read measuring instruments (manual, digital-standard and metric numerals)
• Knowledge of CNC milling and lathe equipment
• Knowledge of cutting tools
• Able to continuously operate at a minimum of 3 hours

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Requirements:

• 6 months prior machining experience preferred

Train Requirements:

• Reference OJT Checklist
