TEAM Quality Systems
Each of TEAM’s six manufacturing facilities is ISO 9001:2008 certified. Additionally, Motek-TEAM Industries is ISO 14001:2004 and ISO/TS 16949:2009 certified. TEAM Andrews has multiple aerospace certifications as well.
These highly-recognized certifications ensure that TEAM Industries' quality management systems and processes are controlled and will continuously improve. These controls ensure customer satisfaction, and demonstrate TEAM’s commitment to continuously improve upon that satisfaction.
Quality Inspection/Metrology Labs
Because quality and safety are of utmost importance, TEAM Industries has vigorously invested in in-house quality systems with state-of-the-art testing facilities and equipment. For example, each of TEAM’s six manufacturing facilities has its own fully-equipped quality inspection/metrology lab, complete with Carl Zeiss® Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
TEAM also maintains a complete corporate metallurgical lab, as well as two smaller in-house metallurgical labs. All are staffed by degreed Metallurgical Engineers. These highly-trained professionals can test and identify metallurgical problems within hours of discovery – a distinct advantage over our competitors who rely on outside metal testing.
TEAM’s in-house calibration lab is certified by the American National Standards Institute or ANSI. The lab enables TEAM and our customers to avoid the costly and time-consuming outsourcing of gauge calibration services.
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Expertise
Besides investing in quality facilities and equipment, TEAM also invests heavily in the hiring and training of quality personnel. In fact, TEAM currently has several Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experts on staff, including Technologist Level and Senior Level GD&T Professionals.
What is GD&T?
GD&T is a set of guidelines for dimensioning a print that can be correctly interpreted and applied. The GD&T on the print gives the guidelines for dimensional inspection. When applied properly, GD&T has significant benefits:
- Clearly defines the part’s design intent
- Optimally uses the part’s available tolerance
- Increases correlation between customer and supplier
- Provides the basis to correctly determine whether or not a part is acceptable
